Distilled Water Health Benefits

What Makes Distilled Water So Healthy?

October 13, 2013 By DistilledWaterAssociation

Distilled water offers many health benefits. It helps the kidneys to function properly and removes toxins from the whole body. It also tastes nicer. But what makes distilled water so healthy? Why is it considered better than any other type of water available?

Removes the Impurities Found in Water

Tap Water isn’t pure. There are chemicals, contaminants and other impurities in it. This can be due to the manufacturing process or the type of material the water runs over to get to the taps. When it is distilled, the majority of those impurities are removed. The water is evaporated and then condensed, but the impurities don’t get through the filtering system and many don’t even evaporate at the same temperature as the water.

While distilled water will never guarantee to be 100% pure, it is 99.9% pure if using a commercially available water distiller. There are fewer risks of the contaminants interacting with toxins already in the body and causing kidney stones.

No Chemicals from Materials

Bottled water isn’t just full of contaminants in the water; it has chemicals from the plastic bottles. Tap water doesn’t have this but then you are hoping that your taps are fully cleaned on the inside and the piping doesn’t have various chemicals that are bad for the body. When it comes to materials, you can never be so certain.

You can with distilled water. The process that removes the chemicals from the water removes those that are added due to the materials. It isn’t bottled (unless you choose to do that), so you don’t need to worry about the plastic chemicals either. If you choose to bottle it to drink it on the go, you can find items that are designed for pure water to keep the freshness and purity.

How Does Water Become Pure?

There are two methods for that make water pure. The first  and best method is distillation , by evaporating and then condensing the water. The steam goes into a separate jar where it is cooled and turned back into water.

The second process is reverse osmosis. This is where the water is pushed through a fine membrane at a very high pressure. The chemicals catch the membrane and cannot pass through, leaving the pure water on the other side. Not as pure as Distilled water but a good second choice.

However it happens, it is important to know that distilled water is good for you. It offers many health benefits worth investing in.

Why Do People Believe Distilled Water Is Bad for You

October 11, 2013 By DistilledWaterAssociation

There are many people advocating against distilled water. Despite the water being pure and better than tap or bottled water, there are some who say that it is bad for the health. This is because the process also removes some of the minerals that water has. It can remove the calcium that builds strong bones, among with other necessary options.

Getting Nutrients into Your Body

It’s really important to have a healthy and balanced diet and water is just part of that. There are many minerals that your body benefits from, including magnesium, calcium and iron. However, the majority of these come from food. In fact, most people will focus on their diet and the food they eat to make sure they get all the nutrients they need.

Think about it: when have you ever thought about the nutrients you get from water? You drink it because it is good for the body in general. People drink it because they are thirsty or they want something other than the sugar-loaded sodas. You don’t necessarily drink it for the minerals.

Tap and Bottled Water Aren’t Healthy Options

When you want the best for your body, you need to focus on everything that is in or not in water. You can’t just focus on the fact that tap and bottled water still have the minerals. They may do but they are outweighed by the amount of chemicals and impurities that are in them. This is especially the case when it comes to bottled water.

Tap and bottled water do have some regulations but they’re not strict enough to remove all the impurities. Bottled water can still have poison in it, let alone animal faeces! Distilled water removes all of these impurities. The body actually gets water and has a lower risk of kidney stones and other health problems.

On top of that, distilled water tastes better. It enhances the flavour of anything that is added to it.

The next time you hear about distilled water being bad for you because of the lack of minerals, remember one point. It is important to have a healthy and balanced diet. Without that, you won’t get any of the nutrients your body needs. Most minerals comes from food, so it doesn’t matter if the distilling process removes them!

How Distilled Water Protects the Body

October 11, 2013 By DistilledWaterAssociation

Water is the second most needed item by the body, behind air. Without water, the organs would shut down, the brain doesn’t function correctly and the body will wither away. However, it is important to get the most from the water that you drink. Distilled water is very beneficial for the body and here are some of the ways.

Drinking Pure Water

Distilled water has no contaminants or pollutants. You’re not drinking faecal matter, different chemicals and even poisons, which are found in some bottled water. Your body can make the most of the stuff that your drink, instead of trying to filter through the different components to find what it can use and what it needs to get rid of .

Your immune system and digestive system will be much stronger. The impurities will not affect them when you drink pure water.

Improve Your Kidney Function

Kidney stones are a major problem associated with drinking bad water; let alone the many other illnesses and parasites known. With distilled water, there is little risk of developing kidney stones. While the water is not 100% pure, it is much better than tap, bottled and other types of water available. There are fewer toxins to flush out through the system, which reduces the amount of kidney stones that can form.

This is really important for the health of the body. Kidney stones make urination difficult and painful. It can lead to problems with the bladder, along with other area of the body. The stones can also stop the kidneys working properly, so the body doesn’t remove all the toxins properly.

Reduced Risk of Water Borne Diseases

According to the World Health Organisation, distilled water lowers the risk of contracting the various water borne diseases. These are usually gained due to parasites, chemicals and other contaminants in the water. Viruses and bacteria are removed from the water during the distilling process. This also helps to remove the risk of the toxins building up, waiting for the kidneys to remove them.

The body can really benefit from distilled water. The removal of the impurities and contaminants does more than you could imagine. It reduces the risks of illnesses from various bacteria and parasites while improving organ function, especially in the kidneys.

Distilled Water Does not Promote Mineral Deficiency

September 25, 2013 By DistilledWaterAssociation

Since the past few decades, distilled water has been come to be accepted as being closest to pure drinking water. However, even after knowing its various health benefits, a myriad of controversies have always surrounded the effectiveness of distilled water. Almost all of these misconceptions are grossly misrepresented and do not have any basis in terms of real facts.

The biggest fallacy surrounding distilled water, and the one that has been used countless times, is that distillation results in wiping out all the beneficial minerals. In fact, it is a famous claim made by most of the filter companies that they remove bad contaminants from water while leaving in the beneficial minerals. The process of distillation helps kill bacteria, cysts, viruses, radio nuclides, inorganic compounds, heavy metals, organics and particulate matter. At the same time, this is also true that distilled water will contain no minerals which fall under the category of inorganic contaminants.

The usefulness or benefits of the minerals present is water has been a topic of ongoing debate. The human body derives almost all of its minerals from food items like green leafy vegetables, fresh fruits, poultry, dairy products, meat, nuts and grains. Pure drinking water contains such scant amount of minerals that in order to consume the recommended daily dosage of minerals, one would be required to drink insanely high volumes of water, when in reality, it is difficult for most of the people to drink even the recommended 8 glasses per day.

On the other hand, there are some people who are of the strong belief that distilled water is responsible for leaching out essential minerals from the body. Although, this myth has many proponents, there is not even an ounce of scientific evidence to support this. In reality, distilled water is associated with an inherent magnetic quality. On account of this, it picks up all the discarded and rejected minerals from the body and transports them to the kidneys and lungs (through the blood and lymph) for final elimination. But the minerals, which are ingrained in the cell structure, do not get leached out by distilled water. Only the minerals that are rejected by the cells get removed.

When it comes to the concept of pure drinking water that is good for health, all one can think of is the chemical combination of Hydrogen and Oxygen. One never thinks of water in combination with the minerals and fluorides present in it because that does not describe pure water. Thus, Distilled water is undoubtedly the purest form of drinking water available to man today.

Health Benefits of Drinking and using Distilled Water

September 25, 2013 By DistilledWaterAssociation

After water is boiled, cooled down and condensed, distilled water is produced. This means the impurities present in water are removed and not only that but also the bacteria, organic compounds, lead, solids, sodium, nitrates and some contaminants as well.  Although drinking distilled water can have many advantages

Distilled water has some health benefits that are worth knowing. Drinking this type of water basically ensures protection against various diseases and healthier living. Aside from its other household and industrial uses, distilled water is a sure benefit to your health. Below are several of its health benefits:

  • Distilled water reduces gallstones and kidney stones. Ingestion of too much calcium can result in the formation of kidney stones that are formed from oxalates, phosphate, calcium and urine crystals. Certain beverages and foods can be the cause of kidney stones. Distilled water contains little or no calcium or mineral.
  • Distilled water is beneficial to those suffering from arthritis or joint pains as it basically picks minerals that are accumulated in the cells in your joints. Those people with coronary heart ailments or cholesterol problems benefit from it as well since it can get rid of the minerals present on the artery walls.
  • Distilled water contains low sodium, so it is good for those with high blood pressure. It not only purifies the blood but also makes sure that the colon, liver and kidneys function more effectively.
  • Toxins found in the body are easily eliminated with the use of distilled water; thus it is considered helpful in any detoxication program. Tap or regular water has considerable amounts of salts and minerals making it impossible to dissolve other inorganic minerals deposited in the body. However, unusable waste can be filtered by distilled water.  Moreover, it allows the body to absorb healthier minerals and vitamins more efficiently.
  • When you drink distilled water, enamel fluorosis is prevented. When overexposed to fluoride, the permanent teeth are mottled and discolored. Toothpastes, bottled or tap water contain fluoride. There is no fluoride content in distilled water.
  • Chlorine found in tap water used to disinfect it is also found in swimming pools, home cleaners, bleaching products or possibly in other bottled waters. This can cause fatal poisoning when you are exposed to it in excess. Distilled water has no chlorine content.
  • Distilled water makes the skin suppler, the body fitter and allows faster healing of injuries. Thus, it gives resistance against any disease.
  • As it is pure, distilled water increases the health of bodily tissues and strengthens the immune systems.
