The Benefits of Distilled Water

October 13, 2013 By DistilledWaterAssociation

Distilled water is extremely pure. By being pure, it offers a number of health benefits; benefits that bottled water from manufacturers are unable to offer. It is possible to buy water distillers at affordable prices and you may just be worth your while.

The Contaminants and Impurities Are Removed

When water goes through a distillery process, the majority of contaminants and impurities are removed. Most systems take the water through at least two stages but there can be third stages to make sure the water is pure and ready to drink. It is possible to end up with 99.9% water from these systems.

By removing the chemicals and contaminants, the water is better for your body. It offers the organs pure water to refuel the system. The immune system doesn’t have to battle against the chemicals it would usually need to and the brain isn’t affected by some of the harmful chemicals. You could live longer.

Avoid Getting Sick

Distilled water is much better than bottled water. Many manufacturers end up adding chemicals, such as chlorine, to their water; even if they don’t realise they are doing it. It can effectively poison you, making you sick and more likely to lose out on nutrients. With pure water, the kidneys will function properly. There will be fewer kidney stones since the calcium build-up isn’t there.

Have a Whiter Smile

The chemicals in the water often lead to discolouration of the teeth. By drinking pure water, you avoid all this. Of course, you will still need to brush your teeth and watch out for the other stuff that you drink, since water isn’t the only cause for yellow teeth; however, it will help you on your way to a whiter smile.

Make Your Drinks and Food Taste Better

Water is used for many things. It is added to drinks and used in cooking. Chemicals in water can affect the taste of your tea, coffee and anything else you use the water in. You could buy the best tea but it will taste bad due to the type of water you use. By using water that has been distilled, the taste of the tea, coffee and anything else isn’t compromised.

Distilled water is extremely beneficial and not just to the health. It is worth investing in this instead of spending your money on bottled water.

Is It Really Safe to Drink Distilled Water?

October 13, 2013 By DistilledWaterAssociation

You may hear all the time about how much bottled water is for you, especially compared to tap water. The truth is water that has been distilled is much better. Remember that the manufacturers of bottled water want you to spend money on them so they leave out some of these important factors in their advertisements.

What Exactly Is Distilled Water?

Distilled water simply recycles water. It is similar to the water cycle, which takes water from lakes and oceans, which is evaporated and then turned back into a liquid. In short, it works the same way that the rain works. But would you really want to drink rain water? When water goes through the distillery process, the impurities are removed. The chemicals and contaminants are no longer there so it is pure water that you are drinking.

In short, it is the safest water that you can drink. It is the way that nature intended you to drink it.

Improve the Function of Your Kidneys

Bottled water doesn’t offer these health benefits. The manufacturers may want you to believe that it is safe but, in reality, it is full of chemicals. These chemicals lead to calcium build-ups in the body, which causes kidney stones. Pure water doesn’t do this. Your kidneys function as they are supposed to, removing the toxins from your body. The best part is that there are fewer toxins within your body, making you feel and look healthier!

But Doesn’t Distilled Water Lack Minerals?

There are many people, especially those who offer water filters and bottled water manufacturers, who claim that distilled water is actually unhealthy for you. They claim that there is a severe lack of minerals in the water—they are removed just like the impurities are during the process. This isn’t necessarily the case.

Minerals are more likely gained from food than water, so it doesn’t really matter. If it did, it is possible to add the minerals back in at an affordable cost; much more affordable than constantly buying bottled water!

Distilled water is more affordable and very safe to drink. There is no proof that it takes out all the minerals but that doesn’t really matter; you get the minerals from your food. It does remove the chemicals and impurities and you can drink as nature wants you to!

Should You Make Your Own Distilled Water?

October 13, 2013 By DistilledWaterAssociation

You may have heard all about the health benefits of distilled water. That’s great but how do you make the most of those benefits? It is possible to make your own but is that really worthwhile? There are machines that do it for you. Here are pros and cons of making your own distilled water.

You Know Where the Water Comes From

You know exactly where you have gotten the water from.  This can limit the amount of chemicals already in it, so you limit the amount of stages that you have to go through. Of course, if you bought a countertop water distiller, you would still know where the water came from. This isn’t the only positive to focus on.

It Is Cheaper to Make Your Own

There is no need to buy special equipment if you have time to waste. Distilling water is possible with utensils that you likely already have in the house. You simply need a pressure cooker and set up a system to collect the steam and turn it into water.

It Takes Up Time

You will need to make a large batch at once to be worth your time. It can take hours to make up one lot of distilled water. It isn’t easy either, so you need to take the time to learn how to do it. Opting for a distiller that sits on your countertop may be slightly more expensive but it is easier to use and takes up less of your valuable time.

You Use Up a Lot of Space

You will need a lot of kitchen space to make your own water. This may not be a problem if you have a large workspace but this isn’t possibly for many. The countertop options take up very little room. There is no need to leave a large contraption set up on your stove, which gets in the way when you are trying to cook.

Should you make your own distilled water? There is nothing wrong with doing this, if you have the time and space. However, it may be best to invest in an appliance – a water distiller –  that does it all for you.

Are You Drinking Poop? The Truth About Bottled Water

October 13, 2013 By DistilledWaterAssociation

Bottled water is made out to be the healthiest option. Of course, when you think about the people promoting it, you see those who have made it and people selling it. There are rules and regulations regarding bottled water but they don’t necessarily lead to the best options. You could actually be drinking poop!

How Is Bottled Water Made

Bottled water goes through a slight purification process. It is nothing like distilled water, which removed 99.9% of the contaminants, but it is considered better than some tap water. This depends on the manufacturer and companies bottling it. The FDA supports chemical-free water but the regulations allow for some impurities, including faecal matter (yes, poop)!

In fact, tap water is safer, where the regulations are much stricter. With tap water, there is no faecal matter allowed. If this is found, then the supply from that particular area must be stopped and changes made to make it suitable for human consumption again.

E-Coli in Your Water

The regulations for bottled water also allow some e-coli to be present. This can lead to health problems and sickness. This isn’t allowed in tap water, nor will it be found in distilled water. Bottled water can make your organs struggle to function and knock years off your life. Is it really worthwhile?

According to some studies, there has even been arsenic found in some bottled water! This is a poison, so it’s no wonder why so many people in the world are struggling with sickness bugs and illnesses. There are simply no rules in place for bottled water to be tested for parasites. Healthy adults may not suffer as much from these, but the sick, elderly and very young really will.

The Testing of Bottled Water

Of course, bottled water is tested but only once a week. Is that really enough for your water to be tested? Tap water is tested many times within a week to make sure it is always healthy for consumption. It is clear that you have no idea what you are drinking when you reach for that bottle of water off the shelf.

You really could be drinking poop. Sure, that is possible with tap water but it is less likely due to the testing and the strict regulations. If in doubt, remove all the impurities with distilled water.

Bottled Water vs. Distilled Water: What’s Really the Best Option?

October 13, 2013 By DistilledWaterAssociation

There is a major battle between bottled and distilled water. Manufacturers of bottled water will tell you it is the best but that simply isn’t necessarily true. Distilled water is almost 100% pure. There are very few chemicals and contaminants found, especially when it comes from the plastic bottles.

The Regulations Surrounding Bottled Water

The regulations surrounding bottled water are nowhere near as strict as those surrounding tap water. It is very common to find e-coli and other impurities in bottled options, due to the process that it goes through. Studies have found poisons and faecal matter. This just isn’t possible with distilled water.

The distilled process means that the water is evaporated and condensed at least twice. The impurities are removed and most of the time you will have water that is 99.9% pure. It improves your health and the flavour. Consider it this way: your kidneys don’t have as many calcium deposits, so they function properly without stones!

Chemicals in the Plastic Bottles

You need to really think about the type of bottles that you buy. Plastic bottles used for bottling the drinking water are full of their own chemicals. These get into your water and cause problems, including hormonal imbalances and health issues. You could find that your testosterone levels are much higher than they should be, leading to all types of problems in males and females.

There are some links to cancer. For those who have a bottle of water now and then, you won’t need to worry too much. The cancer is linked to long term use. However, if you can, avoid the plastic and drink distilled water out of a glass.

The problem is that distilled water can lead to these issues if drank out of plastic. If you are on the go, look for bottles that are made with materials that don’t have all the chemicals. There are some that are approved by the FDA and are safe for adults and children.

The manufacturers want you to believe that their distilled water is the safest but that is not necessarily true. There are a lot of chemicals to consider; chemicals that are removed when the water is distilled. It is not just the water though; you need to think about what you’re drinking out of!
