Your Water and You: Do you know how your Water Distiller Works?

October 4, 2014 By DistilledWaterAssociation

Have you ever questioned about how your water distillers clean and purify your water? Or have you ever wondered how a household distillation works? These are technical terms to talk about, but the knowledge about distillation system may mean an understanding about the safety and drinkability of your water supply, and this is certainly one thing you want to get informed about.

How does a Water Distiller Purify Water?

Water distillation is not only an effective way to convert water into the water that is safe for drinking, but also, it is a simple means of conversion that any person can understand. The process of water distillers is simple. The untreated water is converted into a water vapor so water contaminants are removed from the water, and the vapor is then reconverted to liquid form making it safe for drinking, mimicking how rain water is made. This is the same process where the sun absorbs water vapor, from the ocean and then returns the water back in the form of rain. This is artificially imitated by water distillers. It’s doesn’t get any more natural than that.

Use of a Distillation System

There are many types of distillation systems, and its use depends on how much water it delivers. For example, a small commercial distillation system can deliver up to 100 gallons of distilled water per day while other institutions use, economical distillation systems that make use of several steam pressure heaters and delivers up to 5,000 gallons per day.

Use of Household Distillation System

This is a single-effect and single-stage or two-stage distillation system at home. You can, usually, see this in the offices or your home kitchen. This can be in the form of manual distiller where water is supplied manually, or it can come in the form of plumbed water distiller where it supplies a constant amount of water. It works fairly similar to other commercial distillation systems, although the steam pressure is not that high and of course the amount of liquid water produced is more fit for small or mid sized families. The household water distiller boils the water until it is converted into a steam, but many home water distillers also go through a charcoal filter to further clean those extremely rare VOCs which are not normally present in most water in the US. The steam condenses and drawn away from the chamber transforming it into a treated water. Studies suggest that the household water distiller is still an effective and safe source of drinking water similar to modern commercial grade distillation system.

Use of Commercial Distillers

Commercial water distiller provides a relatively large number of water compared to household water distillers. If you have a big family (more than 4), you’ll benefit from using a small counter top commercial grade water distiller. High grade commercial distillers, can produce water faster by the use of several chambers within the system, enabling the water to condense and be heated through higher and lower pressures.

What do you get from your Water Distiller?

Because of its effectiveness, your water distiller can remove debris, contaminants and water sediments. These contaminants are trapped because they are unable to reach the top of the boiling chamber. Many distiller systems are specially designed to reduce health contaminants in the water and can be used with carbon (charcoal) filtration to increase its safety. It is generally recommended that you use these types of water distillers.

Reasons to Quench your Thirst with Distilled Water

October 4, 2014 By DistilledWaterAssociation

Are you feeling thirsty or dehydrated? Of course, the first thing you are going to do is to drink a glass of water if you are truly thirsty. However, do not just drink any water. Instead, choose one that will be able to provide you with the hydration you need and the nutrients to nourish the body, which brings us to the importance of distilled water. With its superior taste and smell, you will surely have a good reason to drink it and forget other types of water. Through the process of distillation, the water is purified to pure water to make it exceedingly fit for consumption. In the rest of this article, you will know some of the reasons why a distilled water diet will be beneficial for you in ways more than one.

This Type of Water Contains no Additives

Some types of water contain additives and chemicals as a way of adding flavor or for being able to have it sanitized. However, in the case of distilled water, the water is at its purest form, and there are no additives used. Calcium is one of the most popular types of additives used in water. While calcium is good for the health, too much of such can lead into the formation of kidney stones. Fortunately, when water is distilled, there is no need to be worried as it does not contain calcium or any other types of chemicals, which may potentially endanger your health.

It Helps the Body to Get Rid of Toxins

Are you under a detox diet program to help the body flush the toxins with negative impacts on your health? If yes, you should instead consider drinking distilled water as it is believed to be effective when it comes to having the body cleansed from toxins. According to several studies in the past, this kind of water acts like a magnet in the body, which works by attracting excess minerals and contaminants in the body, such as those excreted by the cells, and having them flushed out of your system.

There is no Chlorine

Being chlorine-free should give you another good reason to consider distilled water. Chlorine, which is often present in water, is a chemical known for being able to trigger the growth of bacteria. Based on traditional practice, it is used in order to disinfect water, but the process can be reversed, causing more harm than good to those who will be able to drink it. The mere fact that chlorine is used in detergents and home cleaning products should already make you scared of it. When someone is exposed to chlorine in excessive quantity, the effects can be fatal. Fortunately, you will not be at risk when drinking distilled water because if you use a Water Distiller with a charcoal filter.

What is Distilled Water and why it is Necessary

October 4, 2014 By DistilledWaterAssociation

What is distilled water and can we continually take it? Nowadays, choosing the right type of water to drink has become confusing because there is a lot to choose from. Instead of finding clean and refreshing water, most of the water we consume contains impurities that our bodies can’t process. Many kidney problems are caused by chemicals found in water that we drink. Tap water, spring water and river water all contain some inorganic minerals.

Medical experts report that our regular source of water either tap or bottled has the presence of sodium and instead, we should drink distilled water. As far as distilled water versus spring water is concerned, the choice is obvious. Spring water has been proved to be less healthy compared to distilled water. We can digest minerals that come from fresh fruits and vegetables because they are organic, and almost all minerals consumed by humans comes from food not water.

Drinking distilled water is a great idea since it has no heavy minerals. It doesn’t have any sodium or salt and it doesn’t leave any residue of any sort. This type of water is pure enough to make fluid medications that are used to run kidney machines.

What is Purified Water and is it the Same or Better than Distilled water?

Purified water is processed to eliminate contaminants (and minerals) but not all purified water is as good as Distilled water; essentially, purified water covers all forms of water “cleaning” processes; for example, tap and bottled water are also consider purified, although their quality is not nearly as good as distilled water. Many people have the opinion that tap water should be avoided at all costs. Homes need to have various types of water systems that clean water. This is a good way to keep bacteria and hard water from damaging the systems. Hard water is a major cause of many ailments and causes solidifying of the arteries.

Homes that have installed water treatment systems to clean their hard water have reported greater health. The hardness of the water is caused by inorganic minerals, and when combined with fatty acids in the body, they create deposits. Removing inorganic materials from water prevents minerals from getting into the intestines and lymphatic system.

Today, there are different types of water filtration systems which homes can use to treat their water. The use of a water distiller has become common in many homes when it comes to top notch water filtration. The fact that many people have learnt the benefits of drinking distilled water has made this type of water the best for drinking. Folks trying to lose weight have also embraced using the distilled water diet to shed extra pounds.

Everyone wants to stay healthy and live longer. Paying close attention to where your water comes from is likely to benefit you and your family in the long-term. Learning more about distilled water and how to distill water at home is a wise idea.
