How to Create Pure Distilled Water with a Slow Cooker

February 10, 2023 By DistilledWaterAssociation

Distilled water is a popular choice for many people for various purposes, including cooking, cleaning, and personal care. It is pure H2O without any minerals, salts, or contaminants, which can be harmful to some appliances or individuals with certain medical conditions. Unfortunately, buying distilled water can be expensive, and it is not always easy to find in stores. But, did you know that you can make distilled water at home with a slow cooker? Yes, you heard it right! With just a few basic items, you can make high-quality distilled water right in your own kitchen.

To get started, you will need a slow cooker, a large heatproof bowl that fits inside the slow cooker, and a smaller heatproof bowl to collect the distilled water. Fill the slow cooker with water, place the large heatproof bowl inside, and then place the smaller heatproof bowl on top of the large bowl. Put the lid on the slow cooker and turn it on high heat. As the water heats up, it will begin to boil and create steam. The steam will rise, condense on the lid of the slow cooker, and then drip into the smaller heatproof bowl, which is now collecting the distilled water.

It is important to note that the slow cooker should not be left unattended, and the distilled water should be used immediately after it has cooled. If you need to store the distilled water, it should be stored in a clean and airtight container.

Making distilled water with a slow cooker is a simple, convenient, and cost-effective solution for those who need pure H2O. Whether you need it for cooking, cleaning, or personal care, this method will provide you with high-quality distilled water that is safe and pure. So, if you are looking for an affordable alternative to store-bought distilled water, give this method a try. You will be surprised at how easy it is!
