Distilled Water Diet: Is it Effective? Yes it is!

October 4, 2014 By DistilledWaterAssociation

It is undeniable how a lot of people have a goal of losing weight but only a few can stay committed in the long run. This is basically because of the lack of discipline and the motivation to stick with one’s diet and exercise routines. If you are looking for an effective way to lose weight, you will surely be overwhelmed with the amalgam of choices you will be confronted with, each with varying levels of effectiveness. One suggestion you will most likely encounter is the distilled water diet. With this, you might want to invest in a water distiller at home to make sure the water you drink will aid in your dieting.

A Historical Perspective on the Popularity of Distilled Water

When it comes to the importance of this kind of water in dieting, the historical account can be traced from the earlier generations of bodybuilders who used to drink it in order to supplement the hydration they need in their workout. However, drinking distilled water has been also the subject of controversy in the past, especially with reports on how they led into dehydration and cramping. While it contains no minerals and electrolytes, this is not a problem because almost all of the necessary minerals humans get come from foods. If you’re an athlete, you can simply add minerals to your distilled water and create your own Power drink, which is a lot healthier than the drinks available in the store that contain “tons” of sugar.

How it is Used when Dieting

If you plan to be engaged in a distilled water diet, one of the first things you should keep in mind is how it is supposed to be done on a short term only. When you do this for an extended duration, it is most likely to do you more harm than good UNLESS you either eat healthy or you add minerals to your distilled water, which can be done cheaply, at about less than a penny per glass. When it is used for detoxification, one thing you can do is to mix your distilled water with lemon juice, maple syrup, and cayenne pepper, which has also been popularized by many celebrities. The lemon juice, maple syrup, and cayenne pepper are used because they can provide the body with the electrolytes the water will not be able to provide. According to practitioners, doing this for a period of at least 10 days will make it most effective. But, still, the best option, if you go over 3 days without eating (fasting) then adding minerals to your water is crucial.

The Bottom Line

At the end of the day, distilled water, although effective in aiding weight loss, will not suffice when only used on its own unless you plan n fasting for 14 days or so, which is also the same with other dietary regimens commonly recommended. To make it most effective, it should be complemented with a proper meals, and even used a precursor to other diets.
